Money Conversations That Actually Make Sense

Most budgeting workshops throw charts and spreadsheets at you. We start with something simpler: your actual life. What you earn. What you spend. What keeps you up at 2am worrying about bills.

Our learning program runs over eight weeks, starting September 2025. It's designed for people who've tried budgeting apps and felt overwhelmed, or never really got past the first week of tracking expenses.

What's the Program Actually About?

These are the questions people usually ask us. Honestly, they're better than any sales pitch we could write.

I've never stuck to a budget before. Will this be different?

Yeah, because we're not asking you to track every coffee purchase. We focus on the three or four spending patterns that actually matter in your life. Week one is just observation—no judgment, no fixing things yet.

Is this for people with debt or savings goals?

Both, really. Some participants come in with credit card debt they want to tackle. Others just want to stop feeling anxious about money every month. The methods work either way.

What if I'm terrible with numbers?

Good news—so were half the people in our last group. We use simple addition and subtraction. If you can check your bank balance, you can do this. No spreadsheets unless you genuinely want them.

How much time does this take outside of sessions?

About 15 minutes a week to update your spending log. Some people do it Sunday evening. Others prefer Wednesday mornings with coffee. Whatever works for your schedule.

What happens after the eight weeks end?

You'll have a personal system that fits your life. Not ours—yours. Most participants check in with us once or twice in the following months, but the framework keeps working because you built it.

What You'll Actually Learn

Not theory. Not motivational speeches about financial freedom. Just practical skills you can use the day you learn them.

1

Reality Check

Look at your actual spending patterns without the guilt trip. Most people discover their money leaks in unexpected places—not the daily coffee, but the forgotten subscriptions.

2

The Three Categories

Fixed costs. Variable spending. Future stuff. That's it. We'll help you sort every expense into one of these buckets so you can see where you actually have control.

3

Building Your System

Create a personal tracking method that doesn't feel like homework. Some use notebooks. Others prefer simple apps. We'll help you find what doesn't make you want to quit after day three.

4

Decision Framework

Learn to ask yourself better questions before spending. Not "can I afford this?" but "does this fit my priorities right now?" The difference is surprisingly powerful.

5

Handling Surprises

Car repairs happen. Medical bills arrive. Birthday invitations come in clusters. We'll build buffers into your system so unexpected expenses don't wreck everything.

6

Making It Stick

The final weeks focus on maintenance. How to adjust when your income changes. What to do when you fall off track. How to keep this working for years, not just weeks.

What Past Participants Say

Declan Whitmore

Declan Whitmore

Completed March 2025

I'd tried three different budgeting apps before this. They all made me feel like I was failing some test. This program showed me I wasn't broken—my approach was just too complicated. Now I spend about ten minutes a week keeping track, and it actually works.

Completed January 2025

The group size was perfect. Small enough that we could actually talk through our specific situations, but big enough that I realized other people had the same money anxieties I did. That alone was worth it. The practical skills were the bonus.
